We, the members of the Nassau County Municipal Police Chiefs Association, organized in Nassau County, New York, as a voluntary agency to serve the people of the State of New York, and the County of Nassau, having formed ourselves into an Association for the reasons: that the maintenance of law and order and the exercise of democracy in government is a burden place within the field of criminal justice, and with the rapid growth and mobility of our population, the expanding economy and complexities of our society resulting in increased demand for police services; and the general recognition that law enforcement agencies stand alone as the bulwark against crime in our respective communities; and as crime knows no boundaries; we find a need for furthering more effective lines of communication among our respective law enforcement agencies as communication develops knowledge's and knowledge results in understanding; and as our primary objective to achieve professional recognition; uniformity of operation and the advancement of the general welfare of the police profession; and having been incorporated in the County of Nassau, New York on the 7th day of January, 1975, pursuant to the Membership Corporation Law of the State of New York, said corporation to be styled and known as: Nassau County Municipal Police Chiefs Association.
Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, except during the months of July and August
